The body of the box is Yellow Box burr from Australia, while the legs are made from Palmwood from Southeast Asia. The lid combines the two, while the base of the box is made from Camphor Laurel.
This was a wonderful commission to make a full-sized traditional tuck box using this amazing man-made wood veneer. The box has a lift-out tray inside and is edged with Bog Oak.

The body of the box is made from solid Walnut, with the lid being veneered inside and out in Burr Walnut. I used the traditional technique of using four consecutive sheets of the veneer to create a ‘four-way book-match’.
Bridge boxes contain two packs of high-quality playing cards, two matching pads of score cards and four pencils. The internal compartments are lined with suede, while matching ribbon ‘pulls’ make it easy to remove the cards and score pads from the box when the game is afoot.
This box is made from ‘Lacewood’ (quarter sawn London Plane).The 197 individual ‘tesserae that make up this box all came from a single plank of Lacewood that was the most dramatically figured that I have ever seen.

This complex box is made from African Wenge laminated on to English Lacewood. I then carved through the Wenge to reveal the wonderful figure of the Lacewood in a series of ovate depressions that are very tactile.

This fun box is veneered in a unique man-made wood veneer that I found to make the ‘Tiger tuck box’. This box, like the others in the series, has a lift-off lid. All the black elements are Bog Oak.
